Frederick Pearce was caught stealing a pot of meat in Somerset, Bath in 1839. He received a sentence of10 years and transportation to Australia. After a number of offences while still a convict, including escape attempts, Frederick Pearce was accidently shot in the leg, whichmay have led to his eventual release.

Sarah Jackson came to Tasmania, Australia as a free settler aboard the Amelia Thompson in 1836. Sarah became a convict after stealing 12 pairs of stockings around 1838.
